Paul Kaye first drew attention as Dennis Pennis, a fictional shock-interviewer character who ambushed celebrities with deliberately rude questions on British television in the mid-1990s. He later built a steady career in genre television, playing the fire priest Thoros of Myr on Game of Thrones for five seasons, and earned an Olivier nomination for his stage role in the Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda.
