Paul Rudd built a career as film's most reliable straight man before Marvel made him a superhero at 46 — Scott Lang in Ant-Man, cast for looking barely older than he had in Clueless two decades earlier. Born in New Jersey to British parents, he trained at the University of Kansas and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, then spent the 1990s and 2000s in comedies like The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up and four seasons of Friends as Mike Hannigan. In 2021, People named him Sexiest Man Alive, a title he accepted by joking he'd been trying to grow a beard to seem older.
