Peter Eisenman

American architect

b. 1932age 94Living

An architect who pushed American building design toward theory, co-founding the influential "New York Five" and pursuing a high-modernist, deconstructive style built as much from written argument as from steel and glass. His major works and books made him one of the field's most cited thinkers, and he won the Wolf Prize in Arts for a body of work that treated buildings as arguments about form.
