Peter Strauss became one of the defining faces of the American television miniseries, playing the striving immigrant son Rudy Jordache in Rich Man, Poor Man and the Jewish rebel leader Eleazar Ben Yair in Masada, work that brought him an Emmy and five Golden Globe nominations. Away from acting, he runs a citrus farm and donated ranch land in Malibu that is now part of the National Park Service as Peter Strauss Ranch.
