Rain Phoenix has spent three decades moving between acting and music, starring as Bonanza Jellybean in Gus Van Sant's Even Cowgirls Get the Blues and fronting a string of bands from the teenage Aleka's Attic, formed with her brother River, through Papercranes and Venus and the Moon. Her 2019 solo debut, River, featured a collaboration with R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe; she also co-founded LaunchLeft, a platform supporting emerging artists.
