Renee Harris
American theatre manager and producer
1876 – 1969aged 93
One of the first female theatrical managers in the United States, taking over New York's Hudson Theatre and the rest of her husband Henry B. Harris's business after he died beside her on the Titanic in 1912 — she climbed out of an earlier lifeboat to stay with him, finally leaving the ship only fifteen minutes before it sank. Having learned theater management by working alongside him, she ran the business successfully afterward with her father-in-law's help.
