Richard Adler

A Broadway lyricist and composer who, with songwriting partner Jerry Ross, produced two of the era's defining musicals in consecutive years: The Pajama Game (1954) and Damn Yankees (1955). Both became stage and film classics, and Adler continued producing and writing for Broadway after Ross's early death in 1955 ended their partnership.
