A character actor who built a singular career out of roles other actors would have needed heavy makeup to survive, then made the makeup part of the performance. He carried Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy through two films, becoming the growling, cigar-chomping demon underneath years of prosthetics, and has narrated the Fallout video game series since 1997. His range runs from Beauty and the Beast, which won him a Golden Globe, to Sons of Anarchy's Clay Morrow to voicing The Lich in Adventure Time.
