Roseanne Barr built Roseanne into one of network television's defining working-class sitcoms, winning an Emmy and a Golden Globe for a lead role that gave a rare mainstream platform to a blue-collar family. A 2018 revival drew strong ratings before ABC cancelled it after Barr posted a tweet widely condemned as racist, which she later called a "bad joke"; she returned to stand-up with the special Cancel This! in 2023.
