Selma Diamond

Selma Diamond spent decades as a radio and television writer before her raspy, high-pitched voice made her a recognizable performer in her own right, playing bailiff Selma Hacker on Night Court's first two seasons. Her earlier work as a comedy writer left its own mark on television history: she was the model for Sally Rogers, the sharp-tongued comedy writer played by Rose Marie on The Dick Van Dyke Show.
