He worked his way from a Disney Channel lead on Even Stevens to blockbuster status as Sam Witwicky in the Transformers trilogy, films that grossed more than $2 billion combined. After a period of public controversy and legal trouble slowed his mainstream career, he rebuilt it in smaller, more serious films — American Honey, Honey Boy, The Peanut Butter Falcon — and has since pursued performance-art projects alongside directing short films and music videos.
