Stuart Damon, born Stuart Michael Zonis, spent thirty years playing Dr. Alan Quartermaine on the daytime soap General Hospital, a run long enough to win him a 1999 Emmy Award. Outside the United States he was better known for an earlier role, British secret agent Craig Stirling on the 1968 series The Champions.
