Stubby Kaye

Originated Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls and Marryin' Sam in Li'l Abner on Broadway, introducing "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat" and "Jubilation T. Cornpone" before reprising both roles on film. Kaye built a long character-actor career on top of that stage work, later appearing in Bob Fosse's Sweet Charity, Cat Ballou, and as the murdered Marvin Acme in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
