A session and touring guitarist whose playing anchored some of the most enduring records of the 1970s and after, backing Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, Warren Zevon, James Taylor, and Jackson Browne among many others. He played lead guitar on the Rolling Stones' "Saint of Me" and has worked with artists as varied as Keith Richards and Miranda Lambert, a career built less on a single hit than on being the guitarist other musicians wanted in the room.
