Wendy Waldman

A singer-songwriter whose 1973 debut album Rolling Stone named the year's best, before she moved into a prolific career writing hits for other artists — 'Fishin' in the Dark,' a 1987 hit for Nitty Gritty Dirt Band later covered by Garth Brooks, and 'Save the Best for Last,' a Grammy-nominated hit for Vanessa Williams. She also became one of the few women producing records in Nashville, working with artists including Suzy Bogguss.
