Zoe Wanamaker built a stage career across the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre substantial enough to earn her a CBE in 2001 and two Olivier Awards, for Once in a Lifetime and Electra, alongside four Tony nominations on Broadway. Film audiences know her better as flying instructor Madam Hooch in the first Harry Potter film, a small role in a career built mostly on stage.
