Barton Zwiebach

A string theorist at MIT recognized as one of the field's leading experts in string field theory, who studied under Nobel laureate Murray Gell-Mann before joining MIT's faculty in 1987. His textbook, A First Course in String Theory (2004), made an unusually abstract corner of physics teachable to undergraduates rather than reserving it for specialists.
