Built Dell into one of the world's largest technology infrastructure companies by selling computers direct to customers, bypassing retail middlemen at a time when that model didn't exist in the industry. In 2013 he led a $24.4 billion buyout to take the company private, the largest management buyout since the financial crisis, before returning it to public markets in 2018. He remains its chairman and CEO.
